When I work I feel like a wildlife photographer preparing for the unexpected. I may begin with a plan, but when the players arrive on the scene, they evolve on their own.
In my paintings I seek to discover and share the random joy and organic magic offered up by the world through colour and the enigma of light. Currently I strive to make sense of elements within our current culture which cage and damage that magic, therefore highlighting its value.
I paint in oil on canvas, selling work to private collectors. Inspired by the work of traditionally figurative painters, I use what I've gained to further my journey into the questioning realms of magic realism and the imagination.
I produce signed, limited edition giclee prints on museum quality paper. These are often bought to furnish restaurant and hotel foyers, dining areas, living spaces and bedrooms with collectable, high-end, yet affordable art. Cafes, waiting rooms, hospitals and the empty walls of new home-owners also make wonderful homes for my paintings and prints.
